Steez Selected for 10KLF CD Compilation

With Minnesota’s 10,000 Lakes Festival taking place the weekend of July 22-25 – a little under a month before the release of Creepfunk Crusade – call it luck that the festie selected Steez for their compilation sampler disc. Every year the festival promoters put together a CD comprised of music of the finest, most badass performers at the festival, so obviously it was a no-brainer that Steez made the cut. OK fine, in all honesty we paid to be on the CD, but still, alongside Umphrey’s, Widespread Panic, and the other big guns, we’re pretty excited about it. Supposedly about 25,000 people receive the disc and the promoters play it on the PA in between sets throughout the weekend, so hopefully we’ll get some good traction.

Besides, we know the 10KLF folks like Steez, becuase they are the only band important enough to make the artist lineup twice.
We chose the track “Trouser Snakes,” which is actually probably the most chill tune on the new album, but should definitely stand out on the sampler as a unique new sound while providing a good sense of the detail-oriented approach of the album.
If anybody heads to 10KLF, let us know what ya think.
